Animal Health

In our animal health division, we bring together the combined experience of bioengineering
and veterinary expertise in the development of products for the treatment of both
osteoarthritis and urinary incontinence in animals.

Arthramid Vet is a biocompatible polyacrylamide hydrogel for intra-articular injection in horses.

Upon injection into the joint, Arthramid Vet adheres to the synovial lining through its ability to
exchange water molecules. It increases the elasticity and tensile strength of the joint
capsule, improving its capacity to transfer load. Arthramid Vet has demonstrated an
82.5% successful resolution of joint lameness out to 24 months in horses.

Synamid is a biocompatible polyacrylamide hydrogel for intra-articular injection in dogs.

Upon injection into the joint, Synamid adheres to the synovial lining through its ability to exchange
water molecules. It increases the elasticity and tensile strength of the joint capsule, improving
its capacity to transfer load. More than 70% of dogs with osteoarthritis have been shown in a
recent study to have achieved a successful outcome from treatment with Synamid at 6 months with
more than 55% still successful at 12 months.

Mictamid is a non-resorbable, hydrophilic gel for urethral bulking in mares that pool urine
constantly or intermittently.

Following injection into the submucosa of the urethra, Mictamid incorporates into the surrounding
tissue, forming a cushion-like, three-dimensional structure. By providing additional volume to
the urethra in the form of a stable scaffold for cells to grow through, Mictamid is intended
to improve urethral coaptation.
